Milesight UF51 5G Outdoor Router

The Milesight UF51 is a 5G Outdoor Router that can be used for many applications and industries. This 5G router has many features making it very interesting for 5G Fixed Wireless Access but also as a 5G adapter for adding 5G to an existing wired network.

Extensive hardware components

The Milesight 5G Outdoor Router features a Qualcomm Quad-core ARM Cortex-A7 and 512 MB DDR3 RAM and 8 GB Flash which allows this 5G router to handle a lot of traffic. Thanks to the 8x built-in 5G antennas, the device has good reception which ensures a fast 5G experience. Capestone offers matching antennas for this Milesight 5G router. The 5G Outdoor Router is backwards compatible with 4G LTE.

Furthermore, the Milesight UF51 series features 2x Ethernet ports that can be programmed as LAN and WAN (max 1). Furthermore, the device can be powered over these LAN/WAN ports using 802.3af PoE.

Serial Interface

For industrial environments, the Milesight UF51 5G Outdoor Router features two RS232 and/or RS485 ports, with a 3.5mm terminal block. This allows factories, products and other companies within industrial environments to deploy this router to add 5G to the existing network, thus connecting devices and appliances to an IP network.

Built-in Watchdog function

The Watchdog timer on the Milesight 5G router is a built-in feature used to monitor system operation and help detect and repair faults. It is designed to automatically restore the system to its normal working state without any human intervention. For example, if a hardware failure or program error occurred. For example, when the system is active, the hardware watchdog starts counting times and checking the operation of the main program and being periodically reset by the system. However, if the system fails to reset the Watchdog due to program errors, the Watchdog will generate a timeout signal and initiate corrective actions to return the system to normal operation. This saves you an enormous amount of time to physically drive by a 5G router to perform system recovery.
